All of our hosting packages include active management of your WordPress core files and plugins as well as daily website and database backups so your site can be promptly restored should the worst happen.

How will you ensure my site is secure?
Keeping your WordPress website secure and maintaining uptime is our priority – hosting your WordPress site with us means that we can help protect it against hacking and security threats – as specialists in WordPress we know exactly what to look for and how to keep it running smoothly.
One of the biggest threats to website security is outdated plugins which is why we will maintain updates of your plugins and WordPress core files weekly to make sure you are running the latest versions as part of your package. We will continue to take daily site backups so your site can be promptly restored should the worst happen.
Please note that as part of our scheduled WordPress plugin and core version updates, issues may arise with your site which require additional development time to resolve. We can never future-proof a website and often there can be issues that arise through no fault of our own or yours. This is where clients on our maintenance and enterprise packages benefit as we will investigate and fix these issues as part of the agreed maintenance hours on the package.
Will my site run faster when hosted with Karman Digital?
Modern websites are much more content heavy these days with video and high-resolution imagery now commonplace. With this in mind, we have invested much more resource in our hosting server architecture, increasing the number of CPU cores and also RAM memory to ensure sites hosted with us perform at their best*.
*Please note that whilst this will increase your site speed generally, there is often further optimisation work required on a site by site basis which can be arranged at an additional cost.
What is included in the agreed maintenance time?
For those of you on our maintenance and enterprise hosting packages, we are no longer offering monthly development hours within your package and instead are focusing more on the maintenance time required to ensure your site is running efficiently and securely. This change of policy is all geared around ensuring we have adequate time to maintain your site and fix critical issues caused as a result of updating your site core WordPress version and plugins.
The allocated maintenance time will be used initially to investigate and fix any issues related to WordPress and plugin updates, meaning that you have peace of mind that your website is running smoothly and efficiently. We will also use this time to monitor your site’s speed, which is a critical factor Google look at when ranking websites, and optimise any elements identified to improve your website.
At the end of each month we’ll send you a quick headline report with the maintenance work we’ve carry out and outline the improvements made.
For clients on our Standard hosting package, we will cover any critical update (such as website down time) as part of the package but any plugin update that causes layout or styling issues will be charged in line with our current rates.
What is not included in the agreed maintenance time?
Any edits to your website in terms of content management to update pages, posts, forms, images, menus etc. are not covered as part of your hosting agreement. Nor does it include any development work, for example, changing the look and feel or layout of your website.
If you require additional edits or development work, we charge per hour for however long it takes. There’s no admin fee on top and we’ll always give you an approximate quote in advance.
Will my site go down during the migration process?
No, we move a copy of your WordPress site to Karman Digital and put it on a temporary domain for you to review. When you’re ready to go live, you’ll repoint your domain and will only have to wait for DNS propagation. During the process, visitors may see your previously hosted site, or your new Karman Digital hosted site, but they should never experience an outage.
Who handles my migration?
We handle all migrations internally at Karman Digital. This means your site is being moved by a WordPress expert with years of experience developing WordPress sites. We do not work with third-party migration services so you can trust it’s in good hands. If you have questions during the migration process, you can contact us at anytime.
What if I need to restore my site?
We run automatic backups of your entire site every 24 hours, and we keep the last 30 day’s backups on hand, so we can quickly and easily restore your site to an earlier version if needed.
