Why user stories are key to value-driven solutions

We're all about whipping up HubSpot solutions that help our clients thrive. But the secret to getting it just right? User stories. They might sound like a faff, but they're an excellent tool that keeps everyone on the same page and aligned to the end goal. This way, it’s much easier to understand what success looks like and work collaboratively throughout projects.

So, what are user stories?

Think of them as a quick and easy tale told from your point of view. Whether it’s an internal story around creating a clearer process for progressing leads, or refining your target audience as a business, user stories prioritise features based on customer impact and value, ensuring you get the most value from HubSpot.
Stories carry power in their relatability. Being able to  display real benefit and value to teams and people, it becomes clear for us to illustrate how we achieve that outcome and get creative about the route we take. 

Here's a basic recipe:
As a [user type], I want to [action] so that [benefit].

For instance:

I want to effortlessly sort my email list by what folks have bought before, so I can create targeted campaigns that get more people saying "yes please!"

Why are user stories key to an agile approach? 

There's a number of reasons why user stories are beneficial for your HubSpot project:

Flexible and intuitive: User stories are adaptable. As the project unfolds, we can incorporate new ideas and insights, making sure the final product stays on trend and effective.

Prioritisation powerhouse: User stories help us put features in the pecking order based on how much they'll help you. This means we focus on the functionalities that'll give you the best results.

User stories are the magic ingredient that ensure your solution is customer-centric, focusing on delivering value around what your customers truly need. They also promote development efficiency, focusing on delivering the features with the biggest impact first. Ultimately, this translates to alignment with your business goals, driving real results and a return on investment
